Presentation and European actions
MSM is a public school (lower and high secondary) which, in addition to the general education courses offered by all Greek public schools, offers music education. These courses can be theoretical (history of music, harmony, etc.), it can be the learning of a musical instrument (piano, guitar, etc.), or the participation of students in musical ensembles. It also includes aesthetic education courses, such as theater and art. The school hours are extended and thus the school also offers meals to the students.
It is an extroverted school by nature. It communicates with parents, the local community, the wider Greek territory with all the music schools that exist and with organizations abroad. Throughout every year, it carries out musical or theatrical performances for the public, cooperates with other schools in Greece and Europe, but also participates in international competitions: science, cinema, music, mathematics, European Institutions, etc.


In more detail until the end of the current school year the following actions have taken place:
A) Participation in the EPAS (European Parliament Ambassadors School) program.
In the framework of the EPAS program, dozens of actions were carried out, some of which are:
Design and construction of an educational board game ”The Game of Influence” concerning the functioning of the European Parliament. The game won distinction in the 2nd International competition of EKOME and became National Winner in the Charlemagne Youth Prize 2023. Throughout the programme the school had an extended cooperation with the North Aegean Europe Direct office, on multiple levels.


Participation in the Euroscola sessions of the European Parliament Hall in Strasbourg on line and in site. Participation in the Conference on the Future of Europe. The school has hold multiple actions for “Europe Day” every year as: collaboration with Europe Direct North Aegean, Greek EPAS schools, local schools, a German EPAS school, the local market etc. Lectures and performances / happenings for “Women and gender-based violence in Europe” were held (play “Zoe” Me too, Choreodrama “Noone Alone”). Actions referring to sustainable development, climate crisis, environmental consciousness and social cohesion such as cleaning beaches, collaborating in large scale cleanings with other organizations (“In action for a better world”, “Laskaridis”, “Lesvos without plastics”, University of Aegean), trainings in the National Center for Environmental Education for School Students, “adoption” of beaches, lectures from specialists etc.

B) Erasmus+ programs and other European collaboration
MSM is an accredited school from 2021 to 2027 and numerous mobilities before and after the accreditation are held concerning staff mobility for “Structured Courses and Training” and Short-term mobilities with students to various European Countries as Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Sicily, Hungary, Slovakia).
Participation in the consortium Erasmus+ KA220 with 6 European universities and 6 European schools in the three-year project ACC – Active Citizen Compass.
Ε-Twinning with the music school of Demmin – Germany, a joint concert was held in spring 2023, Collaboration with the Hellenic School of Nuremberg, a joint concert was held in spring 2023 and with Thomas Mann Schule in Lubeck- Germany, a joint concert between the schools was held the spring of 2023.

A collaboration is planned for the school year 2024-2025 with the München, Wittelsbacher Gymnasium (Germany), the Gymnazium Janka Krala (Slovakia), The National College “Johannes Honterus” (Romania), the Gymnasium Walther von der Vogelweide Bozen (Italy) in the project “Hoping for Peace in Ancient Times”.
C) Participation in National, International and European Competitions:
The school has participated in a lot of competitions as:
CanSat (international aerospace competition organized by ESA (European Space Agency))
12th International Short Film Competition with the short film “A school day” (organized by the Directorate of Primary Education of Serres, the Drama Short Film Festival, the General Secretariat of Communication and Information, the Department of Educational Radio, Television and Digital Media of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of Greece, ERT AE (Hellenic Radio Television), the ECOME (National Center for Audiovisual Media and Communication) and the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Greece – Educational Office – House of Cyprus.
2nd International competition of ECOME (National Center of Audiovisual Media and Communication) with the board game “The Game of Influence”- Distinction.
Charlemagne Youth Prize 2023 with the board game “The Game of Influence”- National Winners.
EOES,European Olympiad of Natural Science Experiments for students of A and B classes of General and Vocational High Schools.
“Giovani in Crescendo 2024” Music and Singing Competition.
First prize in piano at the 5th Panhellenic Music Competition «Dimitris Mitropoulos».
